Worship Ministries includes several types of specific service. This is a list of just some of those that are a part of a typical year’s activities. Worship TeamWorship Team is composed of persons who serve in leading worship on Sunday morning. It includes worship leaders, vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio-video technicians. We currently have three primary teams that work together consistently. Each Team will lead worship at least once a month. Drama TeamThe Drama Ministry works closely with the Worship Team to assist in introducing/leading worship. They will also work with the preaching pastor by presenting dramatic sketches that support the message/theme of the sermon.
ChoirChoir is a seasonal ministry at JEFC, meeting for specific purposes to present special programs and music for Christmas, Easter, and other identified occasions. In the past, our Choir has presented some wonderful musicals and songs, including “Eyes of Faith,” “God With Us,” and “God For Us.” They will sing contemporary worship choir songs as well as some traditional choral music. All of our Worship Team vocalists are encouraged to participate in choir, but it is also a great place for someone who just enjoys singing or who cannot commit to the longer-term schedule of the Worship Team. If you want to be added to the Choir emailing list, just send Pastor Scott a note regarding that, and you will be notified when the Choir is ready to begin.
VolunteersThe Worship Ministry at JEFC is driven by volunteers, those who embrace the idea that using their God-given gifts in His service is honoring and pleasing to Him. Those gifts span a wide array of talents. They are much more than the readily observable skills of singing well or playing an instrument. Opportunities for ministry in Worship include technical skills (audio-visual), acting/directing, graphics, construction, design, food preparation, advertising, writing, sewing, and much much more. Some skills will prove valuable in any ministry area, from children to adult.
