Mission Statement: “Mobilizing the believing and empowering the gifted to lead authentic, inspiring times of worship to God”
Developing a lifestyle of worship is the centerpiece of our mission at JEFC, and we take that role very seriously. John Piper, Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis, said, “Missions is not the ultimate goal of the church. Worship is. Missions exists because worship doesn’t.” Because we believe that, we at JEFC would love for you to join us in worshiping God and joining Him in His kingdom purposes. It is our desire that our times of worship would be characterized by authenticity; that we would in a very tangible way communicate our love and gratefulness to God. We also hope that our times of worship would be inspiring to you the participant. We are committed to give our very best to God. And while we would love for you to leave our services built up and energized, we are more concerned that that is how God feels when we have finished. As Soren Kierkegaard, nineteenth century theologian taught, worship is a drama where the worshippers are the actors and God alone is the audience. We believe that our gifts and talents have been given to us by God for the express purpose of bringing glory to Him and serving His body, the Church. For those who understand that and recognize that gifting in your life, I would encourage you to seek out opportunities to utilize your gifts in worship, whether you’re a singer, instrumentalist, A/V tech, actor, writer, or one of many other gifts that manifest themselves in the worship arts. If you have questions regarding Worship Ministries at JEFC, please contact me and I will do my best to assist you. Thank you.
