has been a pastor with the Evangelical Free Church of America since 1973. He holds a B.S. from Drake University and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Prior to coming to Johnston in July of 1997, Pastor Kent was pastor at the Clear Lake EFC from 1977-87, and then planted Christ Community Church in St. Louis where he was pastor from 1988-97. He is committed to the global outreach of the Gospel and has been involved in planting a church in Romania. He and Sue have been married since 1970 and have four adult sons, three of whom are married, and five grandchildren.

comes to us with 14 years of pastoral experience. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Faith Baptist Bible College and a Master of Arts in Biblical studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. From 1987 to 2000, Keith was the senior pastor of Grace Community Church in North Liberty, Iowa. He then worked for two Christian ministries as Director of Development. Keith has a construction background and prior to coming on staff was a building contractor. Keith has been married to Penny since 1981 and they have five children: Katie (married to Jake Bonner), Alex, Abby, Eric, and Emily.

began serving at Johnston Evangelical Free Church in April of 2003, having served the previous 16 years in ministry in Missouri. Born and raised in Corydon, Iowa, he graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri in 1986 with a Bachelors of Music Education and completed his Masters of Divinity with an emphasis in Church Music from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri in 1990. Leading the church in effective worship and involving people of all ages is Pastor Scott’s goal. He and Ann have been married since 1986 and have two children.

has served as a student pastor for 16 years. Most of those years have been with an Evangelical Free Church. Born in Colorado, raised in southern Iowa, he was born again and called to fulltime vocational ministry in 1985. He received his Bible training at Inland Empire School of the Bible (Moody Northwest) in Spokane, Washington. He graduated with a major in biblical studies and double minored in youth and pastoral ministries. He is currently finishing his Master of Arts from Moody Graduate School. Jeff has been married to his sweetheart Karla since 1986. Karla and Jeff have been committed to introducing youth to Christ and teaching them how be radical followers of Jesus. The Souths have four boys; Josh, Josiah, Jesse, and Jeb, who are all involved in serving Jesus with mom and dad.

was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. Believing he was called to vocational ministry, he attended Moody Bible Institute and graduated with a B.A. in Theology and a M.A. in Ministry. Dave returned to Des Moines where he was a youth pastor for 11 years. In February 2005, he began serving here at Johnston Evangelical Free Church. He and his wife, Jacque have been married since 1993 and have two sons - Benjamin and Jonny. Pastor Dave's passion is communicating God's Word to students and shepherding them so they will follow Jesus.

began serving at Johnston Evangelical Free Church in June of 2004. He has a masters degree in elementary education from Iowa State University. Kelly taught in the public school for 20 years. He also brings with him 10 years of ministry to young people at Christian camps. Kelly has ministered with all age groups from youngsters to adults. He and his wife were charter members of Harvest Evangelical Free Church in Story City, Iowa. Kelly and Karen have been married since 1984 and have five children. Kelly has a heart for young people and a passion to encourage spiritual development through Christian Education.
